Taking its title from Philip Larkin’s poem “Days” (1953), Where Can We Live but Days? brought together eight international artists whose works reflect on the experience of inhabiting time.
The exhibition considered how identity is continually constructed between a remembered past, an unstable present, and a future that can only be anticipated. Through painting and portraiture, the participating artists examined the ways personal and collective histories remain present within the images through which we understand ourselves.
